Towards a Spectral Proof of the Mass Gap in Qcd?

چکیده

The positive-definiteness of the Hamiltonian operator for Yang–Mills theory in four dimensions is studied by using the Coulomb gauge. It was indeed well known that the Coulomb gauge Hamiltonian involves integration of matrix elements of an operator P built from infinitely many inverse powers of the Laplacian. If space-time is replaced by a compact Riemannian four-manifold without boundary, on which one can exploit the existence of discrete spectral resolutions of the Laplacian, such an infinite sum is found to contribute a positive-definite term to the energy. This is found by direct evaluation of the action of P on square-integrable fields. The decompactification limit is then the key element in trying to prove the existence of the mass gap from the point of view of spectral theory. Talk prepared for the Fifth Leipzig Workshop on Quantum Field Theory under the Influence of External Conditions. Leipzig, September 10–14, 2001.

بررسی مدلهای گوناگون QCD و مقایسه آنها با نتایج حاصل از نابودی e+e- در انرژی مرکز جرم60GeV

We present the QCD models based on the hadronization of final states of e+e- annihilations, in 60 GeV centre of mass energy in the AMY detector at the KEK collider TRISTAN. To achieve this, we first find the jet axis by using the momentum tensor and diagonilizing it for each event. The models under consideration are the Webber, the Matrix Elements and the Parton Shower. In most cases our resu...

A Uniqueness Theorem of the Solution of an Inverse Spectral Problem

This paper is devoted to the proof of the unique solvability ofthe inverse problems for second-order differential operators withregular singularities. It is shown that the potential functioncan be determined from spectral data, also we prove a uniquenesstheorem in the inverse problem.

Inflation Determinants in Low and High Frequencies: An Implication of Spectral Analysis to Iran

There is no evidence that previous studies, available to Iran’s inflation literature, have used spectral methodology to analyze a possible relationship between inflation and its main determinants within a specific period. Accordingly, the present study investigates the effects of money growth, real output growth, output gap and interest rate changes on inflation at low and high frequencies...

اثر جرم هادرون در تابع توزیع انرژی هادرون

In the Hadronic interactions, the point which is less considered is the mass effect of interacting Hadrons on the energy distribution function of outgoing Hadrons. In this article we present a method to incorporate these mass effects which leads us to improve one of the basic formulas in QCD. In the end, we will show how these mass effects improve our previous results.

Stability of lattice QCD simulations and the thermodynamic limit

We study the spectral gap of the Wilson–Dirac operator in two-flavour lattice QCD as a function of the lattice spacing a, the space-time volume V and the current-quark mass m. It turns out that the median of the probability distribution of the gap scales proportionally to m and that its width is practically equal to a/ √ V . In particular, numerical simulations are safe from accidental zero mod...
